What are Buoys?

Buoys are one of navigational devices that can  float on the surface of the water and can be used on the rivers, lakes, intercoastal waterways, and the open ocean.

some of buoys are equiped with beacons while others are not with beacons.

What are types of buoys do we have?

According to different material, we can divide the buoys into two types.  one is steel buoys, and the other is non-steel buoys.

According to the different effects, we can divide the buoys into six types.  they are lateral buoys, cardinal buoys, special marks buoys, isolated danger buoys, safe water buoys and emergency wreck buoy.

what is more, buoys are with flat tops, we call them " can " and buoys are with conial top, we call them "nun"

A red buoy with single red can  is port buoy, while a green buoy with single green nun is starboard hand buoy. both port hand buoy and starboard hand buoy are lateral buoy.

and there is a rule: red and green go between.

A buoy with yellow and black colors and two nun top marks is cardinal buoy.

A yellow buoy with "x" yellow top mark is special mark buoy.

A buoy with red and black colors and two ball shape top marks is isolated danger buoy.

A buoy with vertical white and red color and single ball shape top mark is safe water buoy.

A buoy with vertical yellow and blue stripes and yellow "+" shape top mark is emergency wreck buoy.
